Default Rear window shattered out of no where

I guess its friday the 13th

Well i went out to my car cuz i had to pick up some groceries and sat inside of my car, to my surprise i find the my rear window is all cracked(shattered). Now how this happened i have no clue. I went out this morning to pick up my sister from school and everything was fine.

Does this usually happen out of no where?

We do have kids in out neighborhood but they always play behing the house since theres a huge field. I dont get it!

Now who should i call for this? My insurance company? Or Lexus Service Department?

Sounds like something your insurance company would cover. Probably damage from a falling object? (baseball?) Or you had a small crack you never noticed and the glass split due to heat/cold.

Damn... that's scary to look at. Sorry to hear about it.

Did you find a point of impact? Perhaps a golf ball, baseball, rock hit it. Glass usually don't crack like that... especially the rear. In some cases, kids will do b-b pellet drive bys.

The windshield is design to withstand variations in temperature from the weather. Only time when it cracks like that is from a smaller crack or chip. This doesn't seem likely on a rear windshield.

yeah some unexplainable thing happen, maybe it's not really your day.you should look on your policy to check if its the correct deductible.250 might be fair enough since you will also consider the labor and parts that they will done to your car.but if you still in any of regret, call lexus dealer or you SA to make you a estimate or quotations.
