Default Trouble removing AC vents. Help~ **pics included**

So I have been trying to remove my AC vents for 4days now with no luck and a few small pieces of my dash on the ground...
So I read threads and watched the video on how to go about doing this. But no matter what, the tabs dont want to click in the down position.
Idk if they already are in the down position thats why or if something is wrong.

so it seems like they are not in the down position so when I pull them down as far as they go, they just snap back up and dont stay down.

Thats me pulling them down as far as they go.

anyone have this problem?

Make sure all 4 clips and down. Don't pry from the top. Pry from the right side of the vent with a plastic pry tool. As soon as it frees up a bit, use your fingers to shimmy it out.

I used very small screwdrivers, shoved it as high in and back as i could, forced the clipped down and then wedged it with the screwdriver - 4 at a time. Pain in the *** but was the only way i could keep all 4 down at once. Another set of hands is helpful.
