Default 2011 ISx50 first oil change, when?

is it true the first oil change for 2011 model year is at 10k miles instead of the usual 5k? i've done both the 1k and 5k miles checkups which only include inspections, top off fluid, but NO oil change. according to dealer since they switched to synthetic oil for the '11 model year cars, the interval is 10k miles now. my car is at 6k miles now, i'm very tempting pay out of pocket for an oil change, any suggestions?

I just looked in my maintenance book for my 2011 IS350. It says there is a oil change in the 6 months/ 5k and every 6 months / 5k after.

The 30 days / 1k visit was just a inspection and didn't have an oil change.

I wonder if the 2011 IS250 is different?

I've seen several 2011 owners mention being told that since Lexus switched to synthetic for 2011 models the change interval was now 10k miles.

Given how many folks have had excellent UOAs with 10k mile changes on NON synthetic I can't think of a single good reason to be changing every 5k unless you're doing severe duty driving (ie mostly very short trips where the engine never gets to run at operating temp, excessive idling, driving in very sandy/dusty conditions, etc...)

Default 1st oil change is at 10k miles

I just took my IS in this week for it's first 5k oil change and was told by the dealership it was not needed until 10k and every 10k thereafter. No need to come in sooner (even for the 1st oil change), especially since the tires can't be rotated.
