Noobie here! Need buying advice.
Hi everyone. I just wanted to introduce myself a bit before I start rambling about my endeavors towards my dream car.
I graduated fairly recently and am now working as an automotive engineer involving writing/testing ECU software and analyzing vehicle communication networks/diagnostics (CAN). We have a Lexus GS300, which I solely love, and still runs smooth, but I feel it is time that I get my own car and branch off towards the independent life.
Anyways, I've been in love with the IS250, and I'm planning to spend sub 20k on a used 2007. I live in Vancouver, but it would be possible to go down to the states to buy a car there. I particularly want a white color.
Anyways, I was wondering if you guys knew any common problems with the vehicle, and point out what I should look for, and how much milage I should expect etc etc. If you guys could share your experience with purchasing a used is250, that'd be awesome!

Buying an IS Today.. HELP PART 2
I'm located in Arkansas, so prices are a little higher here then in DFW area.
I'm thinking of going down to local dealership and see what they could do for me. if I dont get my price walk, and see what happens from there.
Local IS
2008 Silver 59k nav, headseats asking 24385 (still think this is high, and I think it might come with a 3 year 100k warranty)
Dallas IS
2007 Blue 40k, premium package, no nav Lexus Certified asking $22999
Thoughts?

^^ Like he said, i can just tell you what i got mine for
'06 IS350 with nav/sports/ml with 35k miles for $22000
I thought it was a good deal but more importantly, it had the options i wanted
If you think you like the way nav looks, go for it, or you'll end up regretting it later
good luck, keep us posted

It depends on if you want the nav or not. Garmin's and other aftermarket units are cheap and typically offer more features but I like the look of the nav in the car and also the integrated HVAC and audio so I went with a car that had it in there. Plus the re-sell is typically better.

honestly I'm happy mine came without the nav. mainly because you have to click agree EVERYTIME? (I could be wrong...that's how it's been in all the other lexus's I've been in)
And because it's annoying as heck that you have your audio/ac and everything integrated into it... I wana be able to do stuff without looking at it.
