When i first got my IS, I was a little worried that the transmission fluid doesn't need to be changed in the IS, but if your is just starting to slip at 250K, i'm not worried anymore

Believe it or not I actually would go way over the oil change intervals by about 2-3k versus the 5,000 mile interval. As far as detailing I was a freak for the first couple of years, with anywhere from conditioning the leather to waxing the car on a monthly basis. My only complaint is the paint quality could be better, I had major issues with rock chips with in the first few weeks of owning the car.

I do Mobil 1 synthetic every 3k miles. or when it a dark brown

once i get problems like yours i plan on doing a RB26DETT AWD SWAP

how often do you replace the engine oil?
My job requires a lot of driving.
I replace the oil anywhere from 3k-8k depending on how busy I was. I am a big believer in MOBIL 1 synthetic and I also believe using full synthetic is the reason why I am able to squeeze out this many miles without any major problems.

Best to diagnose and fix overheating problem before it becomes fatal.
I think the coolant just needs to be topped off because I had to replace the radiator cap ($77) a couple of weeks ago and I don't think my mechanic put coolant back in after it started leaking. Plus the heat we've had in the past couple of weeks could be a reason why its more imminent.

Not yet, all I have to do is just drive it like a manual in sport mode and it runs fine. If I keep in drive the car begins to rattle when I am pushing the gas. The overheating issue seems very minor because I still hear the cooling fan come on from time to time so it doesn't seem like its anything extensive. As far as carbon build up I haven't had any indication.

No cracking whatsoever but minor wrinkles on the drivers side. The Navi, reverse camera, etc. still function at 100%.

Did you get an OEM radiator cap?
