You can check the invoice / work-order. If it doesn't say oil change on there and the oil used, then they didn't do squat. The dealer didn't lie to you... you just didn't catch the truth.
For dealer work, you need to sign an authorization which lists the work done. It should include oil change on there.
When you get the car back, and they didn't do what was on the invoice, then the dealer is legally liable for it. You can take them to court or report them to Lexus Corporate.

I took mine in at 4800 miles, right at 6 months. They said they weren't going to change the oil. I said, "you want me to go an ENTIRE YEAR after buying my car without a single oil change?". Then basically insisted they change the oil. So, they gave me the 10k service free I don't care what a manual says or doesn't say, I am changing the oil at 5k/6months.
What do you know that the people who designed the vehicle don't?
Unless you're doing severe duty driving any decent synthetic is more than good enough to go 1 year/10k miles between changes perfectly. (significantly more miles than that in most cases).
