Default Tires Advice

Hello everyone,

New to Club Lexus, but it feels great to be a Lexus owner. I was hoping I could get some advice on what tires you guys recommend?

I have a 2008 Lexus IS250, and I'm interested in good all-around tires that can handle wet surfaces well too (I live in Florida, it rains a lot here ).

Thanks in advance for all your help!

Nothing is better than Michelin Pilot Super Sports or PS2. But they are quite expensive. I just recently purchased Continental ExtremeContact DW for my is350 after doing a lot of research. Great in Dry and Wet. Since you're in Florida you don't have to worry about show. If you wanted more all-season they have the DWS.

Honestly the IS-F I had been driving for the last few days had Hankooks V12s on it and I didn't like them compared to the PS2 currently on my car. I'll have a review of the DW as soon as my frickin' wheels finally get here.

Hankook Ventus V12's are hands down the best bang for your buck. You can get better tires but it'll cost you a lot more. The Michelin PS2's or ExtremeContact's are great tires but you'll pay out the rear for them.

Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric tires. I feel they are the best tire.

GS-D3? Those were one of my favorite out of Hankook, Falken, Continental, Bridgestone, Toyo that I had previously.

The Hankooks outperform the PS2s in objective testing overall... for about half the price too.

The Hancook's V12 are the best bang for the buck. You car even read reviews on TireRack.com who is a vendor here on CL.

Yes if you're racing your IS every day the hankooks may be better. Feel and comfort no way.

That test was also done before the Conti DW/DWS came out.

Funny, I drive on the Hankooks every day and they feel great. In fact the nearest the C&D story comes to a criticism is how SOFT they feel (which would be great for those "not racing" conditions you discuss)... and in fact C&D had this to say about them

Quieter than the PS2s too.

My wife has the Conti (DWS) on her SC by the way, they don't handle as well, and certainly don't feel any better.
