Check Engine and Shaky when Idle?
Hi
I recently brought my 2007 IS350 into Lexus to do 2 recalls (gas pressure and valve spring). Before I did so, the check engine light and VSC came on. Lexus said it is because my intake was leaking and proceeded to complete the two recalls.
Now I decided to replace the broken intake with an F-Sport that I am going to install myself, and Lexus said that it would be a viable solution so they duct taped the current leak However, on the drive home, the check engine light starts blinking and I lose power. After I restarted the car, it seems as though the whole engine is shaky, which is a new problem. Could this be because of the air intake leak or a bigger problem? I just bought it at 45k miles so it's not too old. Does anyone have an idea whats going on? Any help is appreciated.

Your car is less than 6 years old, and under 70k miles, so it's still under the factory powertrain warranty.... so if it's an engine problem it's covered.
(not so much if your intake tube is damaged or something but as you say that's easy enough to fix yourself)

^ What Kurtz said above. Please, for your sake, read the warranty information provided with your car (in the booklet along with the owner's manual, scheduled maintenance guide, etc) and learn what coverage you have and don't have. This should have been done before you bought the car, so you know what you're getting into. As long as your car is under 70k miles, this should be covered under the factory powertrain warranty. In addition, check with the seller from whom you purchased the car to find out whether it has the extended powertrain warranty to 100k miles that was offered by Lexus as compensation for the valve spring recall that affects IS350s. If the previous owner got a $500 gift card as compensation, you don't have this extended warranty. If he didn't get the gift card, you have the extended powertrain warranty.

My problem was due to an error on Lexus's part. They left something in the engine bay when they performed one of the recalls, so they fixed it and installed my new intake free of charge. Now it runs perfectly :3

I would say just take it in. For my scenario, Lexus messed up on the recall by leaving a part in the engine bay (can't remember what) but they compensated by installing my f-sport intake for free

I have similar issues with my lexus rx330. The check engine light keeps blinking, the car shakes even when stationary with the engine on especially in traffic, and the car does not ride smoothly on the high way.
I took it to a mechanic workshop/servicing centre where it was suggested that it's engine spark plugs problem which I let them change all six. The air filter and adjacent parts were cleaned including the air flow meter. However, prior to the development of this "flashing check engine light" they have changed the passenger front shock absorberror, both shaft tubing protector, and the two steering locks (the thyroid, the previous day. The problem continues.
Today, I had the car scanned and got these codes:
C1223 (malfunctioning ABS)
C1246 (malfunctioning master cylinder pressure sensor)
P0304 (s1 and s2)
Please I need help for the interpretation of these results/code and how I will sort out these problems.
Thank you all in advance.
