I"m not sure what your budget and time frame is but I would suggest test drive both and see how the 250 feels to you, to me it felt to underpowered so I saved for another 6 months and also found a great deal. Ended up finding the 350 for less than the original 250 that I was looking at, more options and lower miles too, win win. It pays to shop around.

Now that can't be true. Unless it's an average of going a mile downhill. I've read people saying getting about 30-35mpg combined. I could believe it if someone lives on a hwy and there is no traffic at all. Otherwise not possible. So i call it bs especially the above pic.

Not sure on your budget, but sounds like it is limited. Don't just look at the car--things like insurance will play a factor--if you are young, the 350 will cost ALOT more to ensure.
I have a 250 AWD, I personally don't like RWD cars and never have. Although underpowered at times, it is good enough for me. I had a 300 HP car and loved it, but here in the US you cannot open it up legally anyway. When I retire I am buying a 911 also going to be AWD.
Just my two cents
either way, welcome to the lexus family!

It's completely up to you on what model you decide to get. In essence to keep facts in order the so called "negligible difference" in MPG on both models is untrue. On average you get 100 more miles per fill with the IS250 under the same driving conditions. Tried and tested

i bought my car almost 2 years now and since taking it home i love everything about my 2010 250 (40 miles the day i took it home) and since then i also regret the fact the i didn't go for the 350. so hear is my 2 cents....
If you can afford the 350, i would go for it. reason why is, it has everything the 250 has but more power (100hp) and also there are more things out there such as engine mods for the 350. also you have a more variety of rims and tire combo options due to the fact that it is a rwd.
so you really have to look at what you can afford and what you want to do and are going to do with your car.
The reason why i chose my 250 is, at that time i knew i wanted a IS but wasn't 100% sure if i was even able to finace the car. i picked the 250 hoping that i would get approved and and also i told myself that this car i wouldn't mod to the extreme as my integra. so luckily i was approved and i didnt bother to ask if the 350 was a option for me when i asked for the loan. i took home my brandnew is250 SFP and during that time it was winter so i store it because i didn't have the heart to drive a new car in the winter, so then came all the mods........now im never driving it to the winter and since then i been parking it in the garage and driving it at most 2 times a week. its been 2 years now and my 2010 IS250 sits at 1400miles..........thats right 1400............i think i might have the lowest miles for a 2010 out there....
If you really want a 250, and you like the 09-10 model hit me up. i would be willing to sell it to you modded or stock.
hope this helps!

My 2011 is250 averages 27mpg on my daily 32 mile round trip to work.
1/2 freeway and 1/2 city. No complaints from me.
Its not supposed to be a econobox but it does well considering size, weight and performance.
If you want 35 or 40 or 50 mpg go buy a cheap little econobox and become one of those miserable, uncomfortabel people I see in traffic every day.

I bought my 08 IS250 just one week ago and love it! By far an unimaginable upgrade from my 07 civic. My only complaint is the gas mileage. I live in aouth florida and averaged 19.5mpg on my first tank.

30-35mpg is what i get on my daily commute, driving between 65-70mph and hitting some traffic on the way back.
