Glad I came across this thread. I was concerned when I picked up the car from the dealer that it had been in an accident. The salesman had a tech come out and told us that it was like that and walked away like we were wasting his time.

Mine also sags a little under the headlight. I bought my car preowned and just assumed the bumper was off a lil, but I guess over time it just does it...

mine was a CPO and had a gap but the salesmen told me that this was a common sagging problem with the IS, not becasue of an accident. Turned out, mine was in a front end accident.
I was very minor until the bumper was taken off for inspection and then "realigned" by the dealer.. then i noticed the gap starting to widen

I'm going to bring this thread back from the dead. I'm going to attempt to fix my bumper sagging issues this weekend with a variety of methods. I really think the lower engine cover has alot to do with this as it tends to pull down and back on the bumper causing the gap. I'm going to see if removing the front lower engine cover bolts help with the stress and then i'm going to try the washer method. It's a crappy design by lexus to put only 1 bolt on each side of the bumper where it meets the fender. It needs atleast 2. I noticed on the part closer to the highlight the the clip loses it's strength over time allowing the bumper to sag and pull outwards more showing the gap. It's pretty noticable on my driver side because i have a black car. From 3-5 feet away it looks fine but as soon as you get up close it looks like hell.

^ Have this issue. I'm getting a new bumper because I have 4 license plate holes. I'm taking off the old bumper and installing the new one myself. Keep us updated as I want to find ways to secure it further as well.

Quick question...does anyone have sagging issues without the lower engine covers installed or screwed to the bumper?

LOL! I hope your kidding! I think i'd rather drive around with my bumper half falling off than have an old school vinyl bra on the front of my car.
