Someone Broke My Side Mirror
As I'm leaving work today, I notice that my driver side mirror swings around as I start driving. The mirror has no sign of damage that suggests someone opened a door on it or anything like that. It swings freely inward and outward and I can actually lift it off the base with the only thing keeping from coming completely off are the wires. I can only assume that some jerk decided to break it. Any suggestions would be helpful before I make the dreaded call to the dealership to get a quote on repairing or replacing it.

it's vandalism and should be covered under the comprehensive section of your insurance. Will cost you the deductible unfortunately.

That totally sux... It looks like some tried to kick off your mirror and snapped something internally. Or some really fat person tried to squeeze between your car and another.
If you don't have the JDM Signal Mirrors, it would be a good time to upgrade that now. My guess is that it's probably be cheaper than the OEM.

About a year ago some jackass tried to go in between me and another car on a 2 lane road, blasted my driver side mirror to bits. I ended up just getting a used oem side mirror housing(no mirror) off ebay, i was lucky enough to find a SGM one to match my car. That plus a non dimming mirror off ebay as well cost a little under 200 bucks. This is probably the cheapest route.

Well, some good news anyway. I took my car to a local body shop this morning. They took the mirror apart and found the clip that holds the mirror in place on it's base had been hit hard enough to pop it off. They just put it back together charged me $40 and we were all happy.
