Just did IS250 spark plug change last night
On an IS250 at 60k. It was quite straight forward but the upper intake manifold had to be removed. Toyota dealer asked for $250 just for the labor. Didn't even bother to ask Lexus dealer. Bought the plugs from Sewell.
Used the thread below as a guidance.

Took some pictures and might be making a DIY guide if necessary. The pictures are not great to be honest.
Is it necessary to change the plugs at 60k? After looking at my old plugs condition, probably no. But I was just following the manual. Don't wanna go into a debate here.

I did mine at 60k too. My old plugs looked pretty decent still, but I changed them anyways, as Lexus suggest 60k for spark plugs for their maintenance. But if you think about it...you're not really saving much by waiting til 100k or whatever. It'd be, at most, one extra spark plug change depending on how long you end up keeping the car.

I had my plugs replaced at 60k on my IS350. I was planning to do it myself, but I was having the cam gear TSIB performed at the same time so since all the pre-work overlapped, I negotiated the dealer down to a half hour's labor ($57) to install the spark plugs while they're in there. I of course bought them from Sewell - dealer wanted $25 per plug, while Sewell has them for $13.
The plugs didn't look too worn out to me, but what I've read is that there's not really a way to visually judge the quality or life left in a spark plug - you have to actually test them.

make sure you know what you're doing. i let midas change the plugs and they put the wrong kind in. about 3 weeks later, had the check engine/vsc combo with a loss of power in the engine. autozone came back with a cylinder misfire (p0304) and then the dealership diagnosed it as faulty spark plugs.

I didnt replace mine till about 80k and they still looked pretty good.
It was pretty straight forward except getting my large hands to a few places. Had to have a skinny hand friend help and even he had a tough time getting to a few of them.

Regardless of whether you're doing it yourself, having an independent shop do it, or having a Lexus dealer do it, if you need a spark plug replacement, the FIRST thing you do is go to Sewell and order 6 OEM plugs. They're Denso brand, iridium, and pre-gapped. These are the plugs that came in the car and the ones the dealer would order. Difference is, any shop will charge you $25 per plug, Sewell charges $13.
This saves you money, and prevents the issue the above poster had.
