Degree of Difficulty: Installing RX LCD Rear View Mirror / Back-Up Camera
Title pretty much says it all. After driving my last RX loaner I am interested in the possibility of installing the rear view mirror with the hidden LCD and back-up camera into my IS. At first glance I would be loosing the garage door opening functionality, which is not a concern to me as I do not have a garage, I can't see other features/functionality that would be lost.
Both mirrors are auto-dimming and have similar compass set-ups. Would the main undertaking be wiring/mounting the back-up camera and the power leads for the LCD screen? Has anyone done this before (I couldn't uncover anything via search). I would likely have an auto glass place handle mounting the mirror itself.
The car is a 2008 IS w/o nav- I prefer non-nav cars, but love the idea of having the stealth LCD in the rearview mirror and the benefits of the backup camera. I have seen a few RX rear view mirrors with the LCD going for $200-$300, so this should not cost too too much. Thanks in advance for any input!

I have been wanting to do this to my 2011 IS250C...the stealth LCD in the rearview mirror would be amazing on that car. Hopefully someone can chime in with some installation tips...

i had rx loaners with the rear view-mirror camera before. it's one of a couple of things that bothered me the most because in 1" display you 'cant see anything', plus the camera being mounted on a side instead of the center of the trunk
