I know how you feel man.It's a feeling of violation,it sucks.Same thing happened to my brother.He had a tacoma and someone "smashed and grabbed" his backpack with ipod,laptop and navi in a compartment.And this was in a hospital parking deck.So to people reading this dont leave anything valuable in plain view because some WILL take it.

winco foods is open 24/7 and it was in a nice area they just bulit it.. its n a senior community. i parked right in front of the door. i was there at 1:05 am. i remember cuz i just got off the phone and i checked the time. i was out by 1:12 thats wat my receipt said.. he had sum big ***** to do this right in front of the stores door... only damage was the glass and markes probably from reaching in. they had to of open the doors to be able to tilt the seat back and open front door as well. it was a dumb move on my part to leave those things in there but dam i never thought. being so close and a short time period.

The alarm also has a 20 or second arming period, so if you open or unlock a door during that time frame the alarm is disabled and won't sound. Arm the car and watch the red light next to the radio. During the arming period it will be steadily lit, and then will start blinking once the arm period has passed. That's how every factory alarm system has worked on all the cars I have owned( Jeep, Honda, Mazda, Lexus).

I also had my window smashed. The stole my lunch bag I use for work. I guess these brain surgeons thought it was a coach purse. I wonder what they thought when they found out there was only a water bottle and a plastic knife and fork.
I really want to add more protection for my car but called 2 lexus dealers and they said they could not help me. Guess I am on my own. Thanks Lexus!!

Look into an alarm with a proximity sensor; slight beep or noise performed if huddled close to the car...like looking through your window with cupped hands for instance.
