I'm keeping the IS350 as a daily until the wheels fall off. Her roommate will be a Corvette.

I'm surprised I haven't seen the CTS-V mentioned more in any of its variants. If I'm being a tad aspirational, given that by the time my IS350 dies I'll likely be in full family mode, I'm thinking a CTS-V wagon looks perfect. I'm anxious to see what it does on the used market - brand new they're around $60-70k, so already not an astronomical starting point, but I think they're going to be quite desirable on the used market and the wagons are being sold in far fewer numbers than the sedan and coupe. My ideal garage would be a CTS-V wagon and a GTR for fun.

On a related note, I just read in the most recent Road & Track that the FT-86/Scion FR-S that people mentioned earlier in the post will do 0-60 in 7.5 seconds in manual mode and 9.0 seconds in automatic. No thanks. I was very excited when I first saw (what seems like a decade ago) that Toyota and Subaru were teaming up for a sport coupe in RWD for Toyota and AWD for Subaru. Sounded perfect. But those are just embarrassing numbers. My mom's minivan would keep up. I understand that most people will be throwing on TRD parts, etc, but come on. At least make it somewhat respectable out of the factory. A light RWD coupe that handles well is great, and I don't consider 0-60 times the be all end all of car-judging criteria, but a car's got to have some power and accelerating ability to be sporty and fun. I know they're trying to hit that $20-25k price point, but in doing so they're just going to be misleading people, since at the entry price you won't be getting a sports car. You'll be getting a car you need to bolt a couple thousand dollar TRD turbo to in order to at least get some fun out of it.

I'm really excited about the C7 (2013-2014?) Corvette.
