Warranty Question (p0430)

Warranty Question (p0430)
24 hours after getting a new Catback exhaust my check engine light came on.
This is not the first or second time this happened to me after exhaust work. Every time the light sprung, it was always the o2 sensor wires not being tensioned properly. Always a fast and easy fix.
Today, when I went back to the shop to check the code, "re-tension'' the wires, and clear the code, the technician and I were caught by surprise.
I've never touched my primary cats, headers or anything of the sort. Just Cat-back.
I posted here instead of the performance section because my question is geared more towards the way the dealership will respond to my warranty claim.

- Is this something I did wrong?
- If not, should my CATs be going bad at 52k miles?
- Could the dealership deny warranty?(I don't know how since the air flows front to back, and I never touched anything in front of the CATs. But will they still try to give it to me with no lube?)

unless you've been doing a lot (and i mean a lot) of high-speed, ultra-aggressive driving, your cats should not be going bad at 52k.
just a thought, but are you 100% positive that your O2 sensors are working fine?
the dealership is most likely going to take you to the bank on this one, since there's a high and likely chance that your issue was a result of altering with the emissions control equipment/system (i.e., installing an aftermarket exhaust system).
translation? this repair falls out of the scope of the factory warranty.

I wouldn't give a dime to the dealership. I'd just get PPE headers lol. But if I can get the light off under warranty thats definitely my first choice.
Am I sure its not the O2 sensor that I put into the new exhaust? No. Thats what I'm trying to figure out. I'm not to savy and technical and don't know EXACTLY what all the codes mean. I'm hoping for kurtz or lobux to chime on what exactly that code means, if it has anything to do with the sensors after the cats or not.
And now that I think about it, it could very likely be an issue with the sensor after the cats(midpipe ones) bc its those that determine whether the cats are efficient or not.
What side is bank 2 on? driver, or passenger?

IIRC Bank 1 is passenger side...
I'd probably check for exhaust leaks first...(though I imagine that has been done already)... finding none I'd check the output of the rear O2 sensor on that side... if it looks normal then I'd imagine it is indeed the cat and attempt to get it done under warranty... (putting exhaust back to stock if at all possible first)
