spare missing 2010 is250

I understand you "think" you saw a 17" spare but how often do you really look in the spare tire area? From what I've read, a full-size spare doesn't even fit in the trunk area. So what your initial perception was that it was a 17" spare could have just been that, perception. Try taking one of your wheels off and check to see if it even fits before accusing the dealer of "stealing" your spare. It seems HIGHLY unlikely that the dealer would all of a sudden decide to take back your spare after a year of you owning the car. What would make them check there to begin with?!?

Have you tried sticking one of your other oem rims in your trunk to see if it fits? Everyone is saying it doesn't and I don't think it does either. Also I doubt a dealer would really need to "steal" your oem spare back...just doesn't add up.

Assuming you did have a full size......
Why didn't you take a photo, knowing your case was an exception to the rule.
If you cant convince a Lexus forum, then chances are you can't convince a dealership. If you value your time, save it.
Best case scenario, IF Lexus finds out from a tech that they did swap out to a donut, then the best they will do is acknowledge the fact that they actually did swap it out.
The car is designed to store a donut. Regardless of sketchy thief involved, Lexus would not want to be negligible for having the wrong size tire in trunk.
Next time you see something out of the ordinary, document it

If it was a full size spare, would you have had a tpms sensor in it? If it was "stolen" I'm assuming your sensors would be going off. In any case I doubt one can fit in there. Try it out and let us know.

^^ even if the full sized spare in the trunk had TPMS, the indicator light wouldn't go off because if they swapped out the full size with a donut, it too would also has TPMS correct?
And like thermometer (myself and many others) said, a full sized spare does not fit in the trunk in 2IS (that is, sit completely flush with the floor as well as with covers and carpet)

I think all will be resolved if a full size spare will fit in the trunk. If you try and it does not, then you know you are mistaken. Either way, you need to take this step. A used tire lot should have one around that you can try just to see...

So many of you guys have non-stock rims i'm suprised someone has yet to try and fit the stocker in the trunk to end this thread?! Where are all the nay-sayers when you need them?! I'd do it myself but I don't have an extra stock rim just lying around.

^ I would, but I have a fatty sound system sitting in my trunk. I don't think it'd fit anyways. The donut is very thin compared to the OEM wheels, and even if you remove the Styrofoam padding, the OEM wheel would still be too wide (tall, if it's sitting its back). Yes, you could technically make it fit, but that would involve having a raised floor; much more work than what it's worth. If no one else will test fit it, I might pull my subs out and do it myself when I get some free time
