Dealership messed up new plates...compensation...
So I purchased my new 2011 IS350 F-Sport last month on 6/25 and they gave me a 2 week temporary license. 3 days before 2 weeks is up I call the Lexus dealership and ask about my new plates that are suppose to come in. The salesman tells me they messed up and put in a transfer of plates instead of getting new plates, granted I never asked them to.... So I had to move my plates from my daily driver Accord to the IS350 (making the IS350 inoperable). I did not drive the IS350 to work, living in NY and street parking and took public transportation for 3 weeks. Last week he calls me up stating that they messed up and to move my old plates back to the Accord and take it off the IS350 and they will get me new plates. He calls me today saying they got the new plates and will be with me tomorrow. I asked for compensation for this mess as if he was in my shoes paying 44k for a brand new car and unable to drive it a month, he would be pissed too. So I'm suppose to call him back later today letting him know what I want and he will ask his boss.
What type of realistic compensation should I ask for?
Sorry for the long story

^ Uh, ok? You trollin' bro?
OP -- Usually free service is not an unreasonable request. But if you want to get wild you could ask for a car part apprx. the amount of a month's car payment [sways? GFX? I don't know what's avail for the 2011s] or just a month's payment flat out.
Yeah, I'd probably go for free service.

On topic, you could've driven the car. I dont know about your state but our temp plates last like 2 months and it only takes 2-3 weeks to get the plates in, and the could have re issued temps. But something for free is always nice...
