Default Iridium Spark Plugs

2006 IS250 AWD
According to my maintainance schedule I was suppose to have had my iridium spark plugs replaced back at 96,000km, I am now at 114,000. Do they really need to be replaced asap or should I just have a mechanic check them?

Thanks.

I would just go ahead and change them.

A set of 6 spark plugs is USD 78 from Sewell. If you're going to go so far as to have a mechanic check them, you might as well just have them replaced. The emissions warranty is contingent upon your replacing the spark plugs at 96,000 km.

iridium spark plugs are made to last up to 120,000 miles but is recommended for change every 30,000 miles from what Denso stated...

Are ok with what you have right now...probably. Is it recommended to change soon...yes. The OE replacement interval is rather "quick"; as others have posted, the plugs other members have replaced around the recommended 60k interval were really still good acutally. Thus leaving many to believe the useful life of these plug are far longer than a 60k lifespan.

If anyone actually electrically tested their used plugs and found em good I haven't seen the thread... which would be the correct way to tell... "just looking at them" isn't.

The manual says every 60k. If you waited till 100k instead, over even a 200,000 mile lifespan, which is way longer than the typical owner will have theirs, it amounts to one extra change. Why not do what the folks who built the vehicle say to do here?
