considering the OEM keyfob only works when i'm 30feet away from the car, I'll stick to a viper smart start

Yeah, I just don't want to carry around another item, if it would work with the OEM key fob that would be awesome but I haven't heard of anyone using this product

Ummmm so I hate to revive the dead but did ANYONE actually have this installed? It does sound a little too good to be true.. I know the proximity isn't far but even being able to start my car from inside my house is a nice feature, or just outside of a restaurant would be nice. Either that or I will look into having it installed iphone which would cost waaaay more.

And for like $100 that's pretty sweeeet.

Just curious if anyone has installed this yet on their car. I'm wondering how you program the OEM key to work. Anyone? Anyone?

im pretty sure its a scam, if anything its a ****ty universal unit that they are passing off as vehicle specific.

Stay away!!! Quality units from AutoPage, DEI, & Others cost less retail and have proven quality. Plus ANY unit out there can be programmed to work with the factory remote!

By simply using the negative trigger connected to lock and programmed to start the remote start process after 3 pulses one can use the factory remote. We installers do it ALL THE TIME when doing work for dealerships.

This is why a lot of people believe that remote starts are actually factory installed! (yes, there are the assorted few that are truly factory)

I spoke to several companies that sell the Stellar RS1050 and they all said it's a great product. In fact, one guy said it was as good as DEI's. The only return he had was because some guy didn't get the transponder bypass and therefore it didn't work for him. But if you know your car has a transponder key and you get the right additional equipment (and have it installed properly), it's a good product. I went ahead and bought one yesterday for my Honda Accord and am going to have someone install it.

As far is it being a 'universal' unit, just about every alarm/remote starter out there is universal. Viper, DEI don't make a remote start specific to Lexus. That part doesn't bother me. As long as it's wired in correctly, it shouldn't matter what kind of car it is.

Here's a review of it Amazon:
Purchased this unit and installed, was deffective out of the box. Exchanged for a different unit and it somewhat worked. The main problem is that the interior door lock switches will also actuate the unit. Your kids could be in the car messing around and the car could start after three taps of the power unlock... Not good! Great idea in concept. If some issues were addressed it could be a nice unit. I like the idea of not having to have a seperate remote for the car starter.
