Default Painting Brake Calipers! Need your opinion and help!

There is probably a thread for this already I know... I wanted to paint my brake calipers but wanted to know who has the best brake caliper paint kit. I saw something from G2 and watched some vids of their 'finished' product and it looks really promising. Also I was thinking of going blue will it match SGM or should I just go red? LMK What paint you used and how it turned out please!!! Pictures will be awesome too thanks for the help CL members!!!

I did yellow calipers with my black painted stock 18s. If you got black or dark colored wheels, I'd go with a bright color like yellow orange, lime, and so on. Do you have stock wheels? If so, then blue is what I'd do.

There are some good DIY threads on here and also on My.IS. I looked at several and took what I thought was the best off of each.

G2 is good. Also, get the lexus decal and spray with clear coat. As far as color, it depends on the color of your car. I wanted to go red with my calipers, but I wasn't sure how it would look with the Matador Red Mica. So I opted for black.

Keep in mind that some members think if you go blue, that you're trying to fake F Sport Big Brake Kit.

^^Broke mans approach.. =) watch me make a modded lexus with knock offs.. =).. ONLY real reason why I threw red in there is because my tail lights are red-out and I thought it might compliment vs where blue was just my preferred color.

I just realized the size of my brake calipers are alot smaller than most of the ones posted here... Is it because those posted are BBK? or do the 350s and 250s have different brake calipers?

350 calipers are much larger up front, the same (i think) in the back. I have SGM and went with blue caliper paint from G2. Turned out great! Took about 1/2 a day because of multiple coats, clear, and cure time but well worth it. I bought some high temp clear to go over the Lexus sticker once the G2 paint had dried.

SWEET!!! You got a 350 or 250? What brand clear coat did you use? Not sure if the lexus decals are going to fit. =/

Clear coat -- Can't remember the brand. Bought it at Autozone. Just make sure it is an engine clear coat. Engine clear coats are made to endure heat.

Decal - I got mine on eBay for a 350. Not sure how much smaller the 250 caliper is and if cutting off the "L" logo would be enough to make it fit. There are also logo's for the 300, but not sure how the 300 compares to the 250.

I heard that if painting your calipers Yellow, it would get dirty real fast and is more noticeable with the brake dust - whereas blue/red would require less maintenance.

Can anyone confirm this?

Since yellow is a lighter color that makes sense.

^NICE and its cheaper than the ebay IS300 logo. I was going to get the 300 decal because it curved and would fit better than the is350 ones but this answered my prayers! Thanks!

Mine doesn't get dirty that bad. I wash my car once every two weeks or so and I notice no brake dust. It does get dirty when I drive through puddles or water, black water stains show up. All I have to do is wipe it with a towel and it's good again.

For those asking about clearcoat, I used Dupli-Color Clear Wheel Coating. My friend used Dupli-Color Clear Engine Enamel. Both work and are high-temp.
