Default Car stuttering at stop light then warning lights turn on

I was driving my wife's car lastnight and was stopped at a light then noticed that the car was stuttering like it was about to shut off. The light turned green so I pressed the gas and then the VCS, engine and the red (!) light came on. So I pulled over to turn the car off and back on and the issue went away. When I came home I checked the intake and it was fine. Not sure what else to look for but this happens every so often. And of course the car is out of warranty. Any ideas?
I know if I take it to the dealer they will say "can't reproduce the problem" or give me some BS that will cost $$$$ to fix.

This sounds to me at first glance like possibly a dirty idle air control or similar.

Is the battery original to the car?

Brand new battery. It was changed about 3 weeks ago. It also happened with the original battery as well.

When I first purchased my car (used) it happened to me a couple of times minus the warning lights. I did a little research and carbon build up seems to be the culprit. All I do is WOT every once in a while and so far, I haven't ran into the stutter problem.

Also can happen if you pump 87 octane... the engine pings while idle or stopped.

If your car is still under warranty, have them perform a top cleaning service under the TSB. You can ask for this service done, but it won't be cheap. The need to open up the engine to really clean the gunk.

Just dumping fuel injector cleaner in your gas tank won't do you any good.

This is a common issue with direct injection engines like IS250.

The carbon build-up thread has more details on it. Just do a quick search...

I just took my car in for the pedal, fuel pressure, and rough idling......they did the "Top Engine clean." Just tell them that it was hesitant and sputtering at the light and they'll hook it up and see what codes came up if any. Do it before warranty is up. Runs smoother also. I also had my plugs changed (bought through Sewell) while they did this since they have to open it up anyway. Also had synthetic oil put in( bought at Costco Mobil 1) and bought the oil filter at Sewell also. Total charge......FREE!!!!! They may charge you 1/2 hour labor to do plugs though. I had a hook up, but try it. Good luck!

You mean the powertrain warranty? Or the full coverage warranty? Cause it's out of the full coverage warranty.

The 70k powertrain warranty covers this TSIB.

This should answer all your questions: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...d-threads.html
