You know what, you may in fact be right. When I checked earlier I saw that the F-Sport in Canada comes equipped with the power steering column, but I didn't think any F-Sports came with memory seats (they don't in the USA). After this I checked and it appears our F-Sport does in fact come with memory seats. It doesn't actually list it that way in the features list on Lexus.ca (which is odd), but when I check the catalog, they list the memory switches for "CANADA & VERSION F" like the column does.

Crazy Lexus doing different things in different countries. It's pretty hard to keep track of sometimes.

So upon closer inspection, it appears in Canada and the USA at least, power column was only available with memory seats. Because of that, I'm thinking that the body ECU on cars without memory seats may not have the ability to control the steering column, but on the other hand, it just might be able to. It's hard to say without actually trying it.

I've chalked this up as a failed idea on my part. To get the column, plus the memory seats... I might as well wait till I upgrade to an IS-F.
I'll at least know next time I buy an IS to know what to look for.
