So easy question of the day. i am going to change my battery later today and it would save me some time to know what size wrenches and sockets I need to do this. I left my trunk open last night, charged my battery this morning and it is to low to start my car after sitting for 6 hours. Its almost 5 years old. For a battery thats not to bad. Anyway my car is stuck at work and I would much rather take a few wrenches/sockets than my whole toolbox. Thanks guys.

On ALL of the imports I've known it's been a 10mm, both for the terminals and the battery tie-down. But I have yet to do a battery change in the Lexus ('06 350 on OE battery myself).
So I'd bring a 10/11/12mm box-end wrench to be on the safe side. I assume it's just a matter of removing the battery tie-down, removing the terminal clamps, and remove the battery.
What group battery are you getting? I've heard that not all are a perfect fit in that "protective sleeve".

I was going to have autozone test it first but I figure its gone. I think they have DURALAST batteries. I would probably get the DURALAST GOLD. Do you know if it will fit?

I just changed my battery a few weeks ago. I got a group 34 battery because the dimensions fit the OEM battery the best. It's shorter than the OEM battery, so the metal tie-down doesn't hold it as securely. I don't remember off the top of my head, but I'm pretty sure it's 10mm bolts for the terminals and tie-down
Just a note, the plastic sleeve is kinda a B to get off. You got to pry the clamp on the positive terminal: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...ion-is350.html

I changed mine in 5 minutes. I was aware of the plastic sleeve problem but I got around that easily. All you need is a 10mm wrench and an exacto-knife/blade, or anything like it. Trick with the sleeve is that the postive terminal wires are connected to it, just use a knife and cut the folded part of the thing holding the wires, and pull the wire out.
I bought the Duralast Gold battery and it's great. It fits into the sleeve but it looks really sloppy since the handles make the sleeve bulge out on the sides. I just threw away the sleeve and it looks much better.
Using another person's image, just use a knife and slip it through the circled part. You can pull the wires out once cut and slip the wire back in once done if you keep the sleeve.

I had a new Interstate battery installed at Sam's Club for $77 (tax & installation included). It is Consumer Reports' top rated battery for our group size. I am thrilled with that for $77.

They give the same warranty that the manufacturer gives.

Thanks for the advice, folks - i just changed out my battery with a kirkland (costco) battery. I cut those damn positive cable connectors off and tossed the entire sleeve. Why Toyota put that there is beyond me. Completely unnecessary, IMO.
Oh and everything was 10mm.
