Does the IS come with 60/40 foldable backseat at all?

It could be a good thing though, because I think lack of foldable backseat could provide some type of structural integrity just in cause if someone rear ends you at an angle. That's my logical take on this. I asked a BMW SA about the safety issue of the folddown backseat for this circumstance, and he did not know the answer. I think folddown backseat is a big plus if it doesn't compromise safety.

What are you talking about delphiDH?
It's the chassis and metal that holds the car together.
The seats could have simply folded down. If you probably take the back seats out, it'll probably have a big giant hold anyway. =P

Well, actually, there is sheet metal across the entire back seat. However, it easily could have been designed as a frame instead of one solid sheet just as safely.

All the above and folding rear seats sometimes bring in added noise from outside. It's a tighter seal when all is built in.
Having said that, other car makers have managed to include folding rear seats on their sport sedans. All of which score very well in crash tests and have low noise levels. So, make your own conclusions.
