Good news!
Went and checked the car this morning. There was still some residue on it where the spots were so I got out and cleaned and waxed each spot. Looks good so far, no permanent damage that I can see.
Came back in the afternoon and checked on it again, still looks okay. I think what helped is that my husband cleaned the car right away.

My viper smart start w/5901 plus install ran $1200... The delay from when the car alarm goes off (in my case silently) to the instant I get the text message w/ custom ring tone I set myself is typically (take into consideration your terrain) in and around 11 seconds. Give or take some seconds again depending on your location at the time.
I'm never 2 minutes running distance from my car. If I am going to be (like a mall) I take my wifes car.
I also hooked up the tilt sensor in case they want to take my wheels. The only way the tilt sensor won't trigger is if they manage (magically) to lift all 4 corners of the car at the exact same time. They'll need 4 jacks, 4 people, and to each be in sync as they jack up the car.
They'll also have to get past my lug nuts which is each keyed differently

A while a go someone did a very long scratch on my gf bro's car (it's my car now). You can barely see the line starts from the rear door straight to the front door. Then couple months later somebody purposely engraved all the bad words, drawing all over his brand new 2010 civic sedan. Hope this will help you feel better. Haters are always haters. They always find a way to destroy our properties, belongings.
Did they catch the bad guys?Boy, your stories really make me feel sick. Then again, lots of nasty stuff happened to me and my ES300. Someone smashed my window to grab some **** out of my car...and I was parked RIGHT ON FRONT of the mall. It was the closest spot you can be to the entrance of the mall. My car and another were vandalized that day.
In addition, it's a black car and I keep seeing new scratches everyday....one that ran from the back to the mid of the car. I work at the mall so it's always at the mall parking lot. I don't really care anymore since there are so many scratches I don't bother anymore. Sad really.

Glad that damage wasn't permanent. I dont understand why people think that they can just mess up other peoples **** just because they can't afford it. I also park away from everyone else in parking lots and last week somebody purposely parked next to me just to ding my door.

@OP that definitely sucks but glad to hear it wasn't anything damaging
At least this didn't happen to you in front of your house! Some punk on my block has spit on it once and watered it down at night 2x so that in the morning there are water spots all over it and I drive my car around looking like a spotted leopard.
Just have to shrug it off sometimes....until you catch them red handed. :-p
