You just go to BTA: Blue tooth audio set-up, there is step by step instructions =)

Figured it out on how to connect it.

Now does anyone know how transfer my phone contacts to the navi? I try searching for contacts with the navi, but obviously I need to do something with the phone to transfer them.

You can't. At least not with the iPhone.

You have to enter your contacts in one by one. I put in about twenty numbers that I used the most and gave up on the rest.

What are some smart phones compatible with Gen-5 navigation/Bluetooth systems? I have AT&T.

My sister just picked up an 08 with Navi and was about to ask this same question.

2010 and newer models have the 6th gen nav system, which is somewhat less antique than the 5th gen one in the 06-09 models.
