Default Quietest tires for ISx50?

I'm looking for the quietest tires for my 06 is250. I'm debating between the Hankook Ventus and the Michelin Super Sport. Which would be quieter? Or are there other tires I should consider?

I have Hankook Ventus V4es on my car and I actually don't consider them terribly quiet. Now my previous cars were two LS400s and an E55, so maybe it's just the nature of the 2IS that tire noise will be louder no matter what tire I use than those cars, but I was planning to start my search for a possibly quieter tire when these tires go bad.

They're certainly not loud by any measure, and for all I know they may be the quietest ones you can get on the 2IS. But you definitely can hear tire noise at speed (I can't hear much tire noise below cruising speed because of the F-Sport exhaust). Maybe it's the nature of their low profile (my sidewall height is 40).

I'm interested to see the outcome of this thread though, because when these tires go I'll be looking for quiet ones as well.

I think Car & Driver tested them all out, and the Hankooks were great all around- including with noise. I would still be curious to hear more responses to this post, as I'm about to buy these for myself. I'd be satisfied if they were as quiet as my stock Bridgestones... which I perceive to be decently quiet.

i ride on v12 and im not to happy with the noise. i feel like my bald to metal stocks were quiter than these v12's i also did change my rotors and brakes so that could be the source of the noise.. but as for now i blame them on the tires.
the asl on my navi goes up to 2 bars in adjustment driving 45 mph or faster. and i cannot comfortably listen to my music under level 20.

i drove on 50 series continental dws tires and i liked them better.

Subscribed for reviews.
KDW's while they perform great, are terribly noisy.
My brother works at Discount and has recommended the DWS as well.

Check out the Bridgestone Potenza RE760s. They are sooo quiet compared to my old RE 50s. They are uhp - read reviews & ratings & comparisons on tirerack, etc. because they will describe better than I would. I was looking at Ventus V12s and I chose this instead.

I'd say the only downside is less sidewall stiffness than my RE 50s such that I lost that steering response-on-rails feel I had before but the ride quality is so much improved I don't care. They also kick *** in wet conditions.

Hankook V12's are awesome tires, but definitely not the quietest. Michelin tires are generally quiet, i heard the Michelin Energy Saver tires are very quiet too, but never actually had them to see. Toyo Proxes 4's are pretty quiet, i've had them before, but when they start to wear down past half-life they become pretty noticeable in my experience.

Just read the 2009 Car & Driver test report and they rated the Hankooks as "quiet." As stated above, there are probably quieter tires out there. But for the price, I think the Hankooks are a good all around compromise (from what I've read).

I have Michelin Pilot Super Sport on my IS350. I don't see apparent difference in quietness between this tire and the Bridgestone Turanza that came with the car when I bought it.
