Default grr scratched my car rear bumper!!

I skid the side of my rear bumper onto this wooden foundation at my apartment parking space! I've backed up into my space hundreds of times w/o problems but was talking to my girl and then heard the noise when it touched. I only had one week left in this apartment too after 2.5 years living here!

Here's the pic

Here's what I back into everyday.. the wooden foundation on the right was the culprit. Anyone know how much this will cost? My deductible is like $500

I'm not too familiar with buffing a car. Does that require repainting?

I assume nothing got bent or anything? They seem to be pretty shallow scratches. If so, a good body shop should be able to buff it out without repainting. $50-$100 depending on their rate.

Thats easy to fix. I wouldn't use my insurance if I were you. It's going to go on your record and they WILL RAISE your premimum for that.
My Guesstimate is around 350.

if the scratches arn't too deep, a good detailer should be able to buff that right out. you got lucky, i got rear ended by some crappy SF parker that left not only a scratch, but clearly took some paint out

Another vote for buffing. They don't appear to be through the paint, so maybe they are all surface scratches and you are lucky.

Buff it out. I bet a local detailer would do it for cheap if you don't know how or don't have the stuff to do so.

If it can't be buffed out, it may be able to be blended in with paint. Or repaint your entire rear bumper for about $400-$500.

Another believer that those scratches could be buffed out.. Even though not 100% of them, but the majority will be gone I think.
