Exclamation V-LED LED DRL Kit no longer on site....alternative??

Looking for some guidance. I've had my 350 for a little over a week now and cant wait any longer to change out these ugly DRLs. I wanted to get the LED DRL kit from V-LED, but they pulled it off their website. I emailed them and Bill stated that they were revamping their DRL kits do to issues with certain vehicles.

He gave me a alternative stating the following are the items he thinks i may need:

Obvious, the bulbs
http://www.v-leds.com/part-id-s/9005...-h10-9145.html

DRL Module
http://www.v-leds.com/auxillary-back...ht-module.html

Resistor
http://www.v-leds.com/auxillary-back...-gs-is300.html

Seems like a huge pain in the ***. Has anyone done it this way?

You wouldn't need the resistors, just the bulbs and decoders.
Not sure why they'd redesign unless they're faulty or making them smaller. Right now none of the kits out there are easy to install (as in drilling/cutting moisture shields, opening housing).

That being said, if there's a problem with the kits, buying just the parts to complete the kit wouldn't fix the problem...

are you sure about the resistors? The link for the drl module states that it CAN NOT be used with those bulbs without the resistors.

your wrong.....he will need 1 of each and a pair of bulbs. I purchased the kit 4 months ago and it came with a pair of bulbs, 1 drl module and 1 resistor harness.

He will need all the above to really take advantage of the LED's brightness.

In the beginning, I only installed just the bulb and it flicker constantly and wasn't bright enough so I went ahead and install everything that came with it.

Wow, after installing the drl module and the resistor what a difference. Twice as bright.

13w bulbs you would need some kind of resistor, 7.5w you wouldn't it seems.
Thanks for pointing that out.
My iJDMTOY kit didn't need any resistors...

A lot of people have done it that way - it was the previous generation V-LED LED DRL kit. Yes, you need all 3 components, including the cable, but it is brighter. The only real downfall is that you need to run that relay harness to the battery, which in turn requires drilling through the moisture shield or some kind of workaround.

The latest generation V-LED LED DRL kit was 100% plug and play (no drilling), doesn't get much easier than that. Apparently they're being revised now though.

Look at my post for DRL's from Vleds no resistor, just bulbs & module.
Here

No drilling.

or look at this post for iJDMTOY LED DRL's with no drilling.

do you have a pic of how you fit the module in the housing?

did you need a module of each bulb?

any problems with flickering or bulbs going out?
