Any experience with these: GL1 Car Diagnostic iphone/pod and Interface kit for iPod
Saw these from Lexus newsletter
lexus driver link:
http://drivers.lexus.com/lexusdriver...3:LexusDrivers
diagnostic tool:
http://www.thinkgeek.com/gadgets/car/e915/#tabs
iphone/pod integration kit.
http://www.lexus.com/models/RX/acces..._for_iPod.html
I am aware of the other iphone/ipod kit mention in the forum but wonder if this one is better/cheaper.
thanks,
Howard

the Lexus ipod unit uses the XM radio interface- which means you can't have that and XM radio both connected.... which is one reason why most folks recommend avoiding it and going with one of the others (GROM, VAIS, etc) that use the CD-changer interface (which doesn't prevent you from using the CD changer).
The GL1 thing is just and OBD2->iphone dock interface... given the utter lack of tuning available there's not much it'll do for you besides look kinda neat displaying ECU info... but it should work fine doing so... there's several such available (some of which are wireless, though they likely cost a bit more)
