Just to emphasize (look at the gas gauge, same tank of gas as prior image) this is after 3 days of city driving.

That is the exact reason I went out an bought a beater, yes why spend $2k to save $2 at the pump? You must keep in mind everyone's situation is different. I drive to work 40 miles each way, the 350 is HORRIBLE on mpg and having to pump only premium doesn't help. I was spending $60 every 3 days. Not to mention the killer miles I was adding to further reduce the value of the car. Now I put $32 to fill up and last me a full week.

I wanted something comfortable to get me to and from work and get good gas mileage. I guess I found it.

Also, air conditioned seats FTW!

.

I've hit 40mpg a few times. And not just on hills, just cruising at around 55-60 on the highway. You should try it sometime.

on a loaner is250 i got...

trip in my car i made from one office to the other...~35 miles but got over 41

40+mpg is definitely possible. Just set the cruise control at 45mph on a long flat rural highway...

I usually get 30mpg even in 'city' driving by trying to stay as close as possible to a steady 45mph. This means timing traffic lights to roll through when they are green and coasting (the fuel injectors shut off) from quite far away when you know the light will be red.

I have pulled 32 in my 350 on flat roads between 45-55 mph. so i think 40 in a 250 is possible. but hills and interstates will drop you easily 5 mpg.
on average im at 21 mpg on overinflated tires

No offense but YOU NEED TO TRADE IN YOUR CAR FOR A HYBRID TO GET A GOOD GAS MILEAGE. What's a point of owning a IS350 and you drive like a old grandma to save gas LOL.

Try modifying the amount of pressure you apply to the pedal. THIS is your best bet
