Keep your highway speed around 55-60 MPH. MPGs start to drop significantly after that.

Also, underbody aero panels: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is2...plete-set.html

Average at least 27mpg city/highway in my AWD 250. Like everyone else said, I think it really depends on how your foot is on the gas pedal.

Still dont understand how you're getting mileage like that OP. I live in Houston (flatter than Dallas), always use cruise control on the open toll road at 60-65, and im only at 29mpg. Props to you.

Also, to chime in on your original question, wouldnt lighter rims make a slight difference on MPGs?

I don't use cruise control or PWR mode. My foot, it turns out, is a better gas saver than the "gas saving" systems put into the ECU.

I just coast as much as I can, and use hills to decel / accel when necessary. Also, drafting behind trucks works too.

Anything that reduces ROLLING resistance will help with gas mileage. While lightening your wheels will reduce their rotational inertia, the inertia will also help in maintaining your cars velocity once up to speed, so no, reducing wheel mass "shouldn't" affect gas mileage. Now getting a set of wheels that helps promote the slipstream of the airflow around your car at speed will certainly help increase mileage. Turbulence of the airflow around your vehicle is going the be the largest factor of gas mileage (how much your engine has to work to maintain the car's speed).
