Whats up dudes, Have a stereo question for you-

Im putting in a 500 watt JL Amp, I was wondering if any of you have had your battery or alternator go out shortly after installing your stereo. Our cars are electric hogs... just didnt know what is recommened...

1. The big 3 wire upgrade?
2. Capacitor?
- I have a 1.5F capacitor with digital Voltage readout its brand new, however I noticed it doesnt have a remote wire to turn it on and off so Im not too sure if I want to hook it up, It is suppose to turn off after 10 minutes of inactivity. What do you think?

Any other suggestions would be appriciated, Im Using 4GA wire as it stands because that was what the Amp. recommended.

I am running a 1200w amp with 4 gauge wires. I haven't had any problems. No capacitor, no big 3. Just standard battery to amp wiring.

LOL^^^...had that problem before..im running JL 500/1 mono with JLw3...had a cheap *** battery that got drained and when beat hits hard you could see all the lights dim...went and got a redtop optima with no problems since...oh yeah no cap with 4 gauge

Here's one problem with the JL set up, one of the guys here heard my alpine pdx-m6 setup, bought the JL 500/1 and is now disappointed it doesn't hit as hard as my -1 gain M6

^^I asked my dealer about it. They claim I have the new one, so I believed them and I dont know what the new mirror looks like so I cant argue...Im also out of warranty..so im stuckk

If you have a aftermarket sub the TSIB mirror is worthless (if you have to pay), if its free its still not worth it (with aftermarket setup). I cant tell if theres a cop behind me or not UNLESS i mute my radio first, its still blurry... AND~ the tsib mirror changes the height of your tsuna/fusa setup a bit

^ It does help if your gain is turned down slightly. I certainly wouldn't pay for it though.
