Default When did you start to drive your Lexus hard?

By drive hard I mean bounce off the rev limiter. At how many miles approximately, and what is the thought behind it?

Brand new
After break in (600 miles according to the manual)
After certain miles
Never

The moment I bought it... well after warming up the engine appropriately, of course.

I think these engines are pretty much broken in at the factory. Either way, it's whatevs. I take good enough care of her.

Never bounced off the rev limiter before. I hella baby my car lol. Although I've dropped the clutch at 4k+ rpm a few times before.

Would someone please be so kind as to explain to me what it means to, "bounce off the rev limiter?"

You literally hit a point where the car "kicks back" and prevents you from revving any higher. It basically prevents you from revving to high and causing engine damage. Happens usually when you have the car in sport-shift mode and rev too high in any gear instead of shifting up.

Like what killa said...

It's a limiter set by the engineers to prevent you from damaging your engine. Once you reach the limiter, the ecu will cut off fuel to the engine to momentarily drop the rev down... that's why you get the bounce effect.

On Topic, I didn't open it up until the first oil change. I'm a bit paranoid

So why did you get a 350 then? Should have picked up a 250 IMO.

I picked up my car used with 30k miles on it so, yeah, day 1 and the first open road.
