Default Passenger side parking light won't come out

Hey guys,

so this past weekend i installed HID bulbs and i wanted to replace my parking lights with led at the same time while i was at it. driver side parking light easylt came up with a little twist but driver side wont turn at all. i spend half an hour trying to get it out but no luck. anyone has any suggestion on how to take this thing off or just disable the whole parking lights. i don't understand, if they are parking lights why are they always on??????? shouldn't they just turn on when you put the car on P? any suggestions is appreciated.

You probably just have to twist harder, or in the other direction.

The parking lights are not always on, only when in parking lights mode and when your lowbeams are on. It's mostly for aesthetics and parking lights probably isn't the best descriptor.

The parking lights will be on when the low beams/HID are on.

This is correct. The functioning of what Lexus calls the "parking lights" has nothing to do with what gear the car is in. No matter whether you're in park, drive, reverse, etc, the parking lights will be on if the low beams are on. If the low beams are NOT on, the parking lights will not be on.

The parking lights are very small halogen bulbs that poke into the reflector housing of the daytime running lights/high beams. I'm assuming you're truly talking about the parking lights and not the DRLs/high beams, which is one larger bulb (that serves both functions) and is next to the low beams.

I made this a while ago for a similar thread:

1) Low beam (halogen or HID)
2) Parking light (smaller halogen bulb)
3) DRL/high beam (halogen)
4) Fog light (halogen)

Not true. When you click your headlamps stalk to the second setting, that is "parking light mode." In that case, the parking lights will be on either with or without your DRLs (depending on settings and conditions), but not your low beams.

Actually, if you really want to get picky, #1 should say "Low beam (halogen) or Low/High beam (bi-xenon HID). When the high beams are engaged or disengaged, a shutter moves in the projector housing to change the beam pattern. With HIDs, the halogen high beam is supplemental.

Haha alright, everyone here is right with all the corrections. I was trying to provide that picture only as a guide to where each light is located and what each light is for OP's reference. Thanks to those who've corrected!
