Hi all. I'm a recent is250 owner, less than a month still! This would be my first Luxury Sports sedan. I've worked mainly on 2 door cars and ever since a bad accident stopped my hobby. But I'm back and this time just trying to go for a clean look with an aggressive handling.

Anywhoo, I've searched, and googled, so before you ask me to search I've done that. I've read numerous DIY about how to remove the dash, comparing ipod connections and ML vs Non ML. I'm trying to find someone who or someone who thought of running the iPod connection a different route other than the glove box.

Most of my ipod connections had been through a double din headunit which I cut feed the cable connection through the bottom din and rest the ipod / iphone there. Now I'm thinking of drilling a hole or so where the ash tray is and running the cable there.

Any input would be a help if anyone has seen anyone try this mod and can link me to it. There was one member on here that was customizing this and even drew a blueprint on having the ipod / iphone rest directly onto the ash trey where the screen for text messages was visible. I'd like something like that but no need to have the iPod / iPhone stand.
