Default usb port in glove box?

so i recently took my is250 to service and they gave me a 2011 rx350 which was really really nice! and i noticed it had a usb slot. i connected my iphone usb and i could control the music from my steering wheel. does anyone know if i could add that option to my is250 the same way the rx350 does?

2010+ IS has the USB port, as well as Bluetooth Audio. Works relatively well.

Not sure what all would need to be done to add this to an older model though.

Yes,
you can do it with all kind of diff add-on's
one of them GROM Toyota/Lexus USB/iPod/iPhone/Aux Adapter Interface
will set you about $100-140

Depends on what u want to do.
there's other ones that will replace your entire menu and unlock yr Nav & Music menus also i think u can play Movies.

Just search for DICE kit or GROM or vaistech or flyaudio

Lots of options

Yeah i find most dealership's will not install aftermarket parts for you. Either way, it will be very expensive at the dealer. Much better off getting the ML+ and having it installed a reputable shop

If you know how to remove your head unit, it's a pretty easy install. Definitely helps to have a friend with you though.
