Help! SRS Light After A System Install!

I just got my system installed at a local shop and noticed that the SRS light was on in my new IS. I was trouble shooting for a couple hours after searching the forums. I came to the conclusion that a clip wasn't plugged back in behind the rear seats. So I pulled everything apart and sure enough, a clip was in, but it wasn't clicked. Not sure if this is what caused my SRS light to come on but now it still won't go away, even after I made sure all the clips were clicked. The light being on doesn't bug me, what does bug me is that I read on here that NONE of the airbags will work if I get hit and that scares me. Anyone have any suggestions? My closest dealer is 4 hours away, and I really don't wanna take it to them anyway. The car is a 2011 AWD IS350 and the system is a JL w6v2 with a slash 500/1 if that matters. Thanks in advance.

hey. as a former installer of car audio.....here's the deal on your issue.
your light wont go off until there is a certain number of starts and miles driven. for example.....if you cleared the issue in the first place it may take 40 start ups, driving 10 miles each time. thats just an exageration but thats how they go away. but that requires the issue to be fixed. once it is it will eventually. if the problem is fixed your air bags may not deploy as the computer still see's a fault.
but if the issue is not fixed than they will def not deploy. some good OBD meters can clear those codes but usually it requires a dealership computer to clear the code.
so if your sure you fixed the issue than you can drive the car like normal hoping the issue is resolved or you can go to a good mechanic or dealership and get it cleared.
let me know if you need help

I'll start putting more miles on it to see if the code clears up after a certain mileage. Thanks for the input guys.

yeah thats the best bet...try and drive it off.
and i mentioned the dealer for a reason though. its not an engine code. trust me the reader for airbags is beyond expensive....but dabo, what about a toyota dealership? they may be able to clear it.
