Default Aftermarket HIDs

I have a 2006 is250 and dont have the stock hids. i want to order some aftermarket hids but cant seem to figure out how to run the wires from the housing through the headlight panel lid to the aftermartket ballast. i dont want to drill a hole because then my headlights might start to have condensation. can anyone tell me how they did it?

You can use a grommet in that drilled hole to stop condensation.

the aftermarket hid's will come with a rubber round seal. so when you drill the hole drill just enough so that the seal will fall into the hole. i just left it at that but i guess if you really want you cal also find a glue of some sort to seal it more but i dont think its needed.

selling my complete hid set for the low's and fogs in 6k if you interested. let me know

best way is to drill it and seal it with silicone. Just make sure the hole you drill is 3/4 of an inch.

Even if there is a problem you can always buy the cover again and go back to your original setup.

take a multifaceted approach:

use the grommet supplied by the aftermarket HID manufacturer
apply silicon caulking to the hole and grommet
add desiccant gel packs to the housing. just throw a few in there

however, i do believe someone on this forum was able to fit ddm slim ballasts inside the housing so there wouldn't have to be any drilling

like someone said above, just purchase an extra set of the covers from sewell or local dealerships for peace of mind. I have a set in my closet just in case if I ever need to take my HID out.

i bought one from a vendor here and dont have to drill it, but you got to be good at tetris to do it, i bought the one with slim ballast. I got a 2010 i dont know if the headlight housing will be different from previous years. GL wth whatever you will be going.
