this has got to be the worst idea ive ever heard. why would you attempt to mix and match car parts when they are already offered from the factory with a warranty? you live in the continental united states, im pretty sure you could find a used IS AWD car. It's not like you NEED to go custom b/c the models arent offered (think the guy in the UAE with a IS-F swap).
with this swap, your car would probably be deemed less reliable than every single new car offering today, regardless of manufacturer. if youre going to take on the risk of doing any sort of swap, why not do something worthwhile that REQUIRES customization, not something that is already mass produced and readily available....idiot....

Wow... Really? Read my op and decide if you really need to call me an idiot. I just asked one simple question. I live where it is snowy and awd is usually a good option for snow. Sorry I asked this question about a Lexus on a Lexus forum.

So.. an idea just popped into my head. I know of a wrecked AWD IS250 that is being parted out. Would it be hard to take the awd parts from it and convert my IS350 to AWD?? It seems that the parts that would be different woult be the Trans and front suspension / knuckles. Obviosly add the front cv shafts.. Any more that you guys know of??
