My Lexus road trip tomorrow - 1200 miles - Minneapolis -> NYC
So as some of you (my FB friends!) may already know, I am moving to New York City! At first I assumed I would have to sell my baby because living in Manhattan with a car is unpractical and expensive....BUT because I love my car so much, and I got a SWEET job that pays me lots of $ and also requires me to travel out to Long Island twice a week, I was able to justify keeping it. YAY! So....at 4am I am going to hit the road and hope to make it to at least Pennsylvania by tomorrow evening. I am sure my car will be fine and I have taken it to get the tires and brakes checked, and oil changed. Hoping for a safe accident free/car problem free trip out there, especially since I am going alone! Anyone else taken their IS on a long road trip? Any tips? (especially tips for keeping my sanity? lol)

As far as keeping your sanity, you won't. HAHA. But, in reality, load up your phone with movies/stand up comedians/ect. that you can listen to and laugh. That'll keep you awake and keep you a little less bored. Music is great, but that can be a bit monotonous and, for me at least, lulls me to sleep.
Have a safe drive and congrats on the move to the city.

good idea on the stand up comedy!!! I love the Daniel Tosh one I watched the other day it was crudely hilarious. I will get to work on downloading some non-music things to listen to. I can only handle so much NPR haha
Thanks!

Make sure to have plenty of music lol. You should put painters tape on the front to protect the paint from bugs, rocks and other debris.

Also, I driving from NC to NYC all the time since I am stationed in NC (only 620 miles door to door) but the ride is sooooo comfortable!! you would not have any problems at all... Trust me just last year I put 10k highway miles, I counted them...

Thanks everyone I am SUPER excited :-) I will definitely call ya M and bug you to keep me awake haha
Good idea about the painter tape on the front....I have GFM paint so its not exactly easy to touch up if it gets messed up!! I may have to stop somewhere along the way to get it and tape it up. :-)
Getting on the road in just 4 hours!!! :-)
