Just Drove Through Flooded Street
#16
whoa, I'd of been afraid of my alternator. Ours are mounted low. I mention this because of the waters height. A Jeep Wrangler for example has its Alternator mounted high on the engine block for fording capabilities, something an IS was never meant to do. Seems this was unavoidable though :/

I know, i know, i shouldnt have done it, however i couldnt turn around. My car is lowered which made me even more nervous, however i drove my car through a flooded street and the water im sure was above the bottom of my door line. No water entered into the cars cabin but i did see traces of water spots inside the spare area. im suprised my fog lights still work since they were submerged, and also im sure my exhaust was underwater also. but i had a question, what do i need to check out? since i drove through a flood, everything on the car seems fine, no check engine light, car didnt stall, all lights work, car drives the same. i read about checking the oil and that looks normal also. Just to give you an idea of how high the water was on my car compared to that beetle
that happen like 4 days ago right =0) I remember it was nasty the only thing I would be concerned about is rust under your undercarriage in time.. I do believe Lexus has a recall for lines getting rusted next to the fuel like when I did a car fax report and saw all of the recalls the IS had

I lost one of my JDM Yellow fogs a few weeks ago when NYC was completely flooded... I wanted to kill myself since I had just installed the bulbs ... oh well, ordering new when I get back to the states!

The alternator isn't that low to the point to where you have to worry about it getting soaked. Your car should be fine, if it would've been slammed then that probably wouldve been a problem.
Glad you got another IS IS250Mica
