Looks like I have it the easiest so I shouldn't complain. I bought my IS350 used for $20,300. After document fees and sales tax, it came to $23,000. Here in Chicago, sales tax is 10 cents on the dollar so I got charged $2,030 in taxes lol. But no taxes afterwards, just a $99 plate renewal and $75 a year for Chicago parking permit. Yeah, my $2,030 in sales tax sucked but at least nothing much afterwards.

I paid $199 for my initial car tax, and $339 to the county this year for my car tax, which is down $100 from last year.

In yearly registration?!? No WAY! I think mine was around $90.

You must be talking sales tax. I paid around $2700 when I bought my car used.

Sales tax....my registration was around $70.

damn. $58.35 here in FL. If the tax is based on the value of the vehicle, then it should be tax deductible.

Alabama - sales tax on the 2011 was 1400 paid at the dealer, yearly registration 300ish

One time tax of $500 or so at purchase in 2018, then $21 a year to renew the registration. Never lived in a state where they tax you again and again each year. That sounds terrible. (IL, FL, GA).
