Question How much are you paying in car tax?

I was curious to see how much others are paying in the area and in other places (if it applies to you).

I have a 11' 350 F-sport and I have to pay $864.38 ...I could have used that to buy my coils! lol

Bought mine in Cali so it was a lot more than that. Have to refer back to contract for actual tax cost.

Are you talking sales tax when the vehicle was purchased or a yearly property tax?

Damn, I have not paid mine yet. I hope it's no where near that lol. I forget what the % is here in Kentucky. It's never been close to that though for cars of similar value.

In Alabama, my car tags including taxes run about $400 per year. That is for 4 cars. My wife's 2007 Tahoe LTZ, my 2006 Lexus, my oldest daughters 2005 Toyota Solara, and my middle daughters 2002 Altima. Car tax as well as property tax is cheap here in AL.

No tax only a $70 or so license plate/registration fee for the IS a year here but in Jersey we pay a lot for just about everything else.

I've lived in MO and MD, and in neither state did I pay any personal property taxes on my car. I only paid sales tax when I registered the car post-purchase.

Hey, don't forget the "convenience fee" if you renew on the web. Which makes absolutely no sense to me. If you mail them a check, they have to pay someone to open the envelope, endorse the check, and then type the information into the computer. Same thing if you pay in person at the DMV, except they are also paying that person to stand around between customers. But if you pay on the web, where the payment is processed by computer software without human intervention, they charge extra.

So true!
What is it like $2?
$2 adds up fast with the amount of vehicles here.
Another way to get screwed a bit here and there.

BTW,have to been to DMV for any paperwork issues?
Bring a snack. You'll be there for awhile.
