Don't worry guys. It's not a fair fight. I think we should get times for IS 250 vs BMW 320i or IS 300 vs 328i and the IS 350 should be facing BMW's 330i not the 335i.
I believe in all the comparison's above Lexus is faster and more reliable than BMW. Lexus does not have a car to compete with the 335i. Correct me if I'm wrong guys.

The BMW definitely has far more potential. Stock vs. stock, it's pretty close. Anecdotally, in my experience the IS350 wins (just barely) from a dig everytime.

Why hasn't anyone added turbo's to their IS350 yet ? If it's possible I'm planning to add turbo's to my IS 300 once my warranty runs out.

Not sure, but there's not many turbos that were made for the 2IS and those that are out there are expensive. Plus, we can only safely do like 5-7 PSI for the 2IS and that's not enough of an HP gain for the money. There are a few turbo'd IS350's on this forum and YouTube. Unlike with the BMW 335, those you can put it a $500 chip and the HP is raised from 300 to as much as 380.

A 335i is better in regards to tuning. They can run circles around M3s with JB3, Dinan etc.. Some might say handling as well, but some good tires, chassis brace, sways, and coils will make the Lexus handle just as well. Steering feed back can also be improved with an IS-F damper. With the BMW though, you have to watch out for the HPFP which has a high fail rate. From a dig stock for stock against an IS350, despite the lower lbft number, it's the Lexus's aggressive gearing that makes it so formidable. On a side note, the interior of the IS is much better than the 3 which can best be described as bland. Despite the lack of tuning, the Lexus seems to be the better value in terms of bang for your buck, design, reliability, price and luxury. 3-series is a great car, but the Lexus suits my criteria better

Wtf!?!
Seriously? A old m5 will Merk on a is350! Period! Anyone who knows anything about cars. At lower speeds 25-60 or so it's like a m3 but around 60 it wud teleport from a slow *** 2gr-fse hands down. Only a non driving **** like the one shown in this video wud get beat.

Hmm sad to know that our 2IS's can't be tuned to get more from the mill. I hope and wish the next gen IS's are more tuner friendly.

Hmm I don't know what these engine compressions ratios mean, honestly speaking. What would be the figures for 335i and 320i ? And how is it better than ours for tuning wrt compression ratios.

The E90 3-series which debuted in 2006 same as the IS350, 330i was a 3.0L I6 with 255hp. It was completely outgunned by the Lexus's new 3.5L V6 with 306hp. Hence for the 2007 model year, 330i was dropped in favor of the 335i and it's TT 3.0L I6.

I really didn't know that our 2IS's weren't tuner friendly. Lucky those 3 series owners in that regard, anyways they'll be smiling only till they get stranded on the side of the road

There are a couple of piggy-back solutions available, but you're talking $1000+ for about 10 hp without doing extensive other modding.
Essentially the higher the CR the more prone the engine is to detonation... and forced induction is already compressing things, so combine that with a high engine CR and you're very limited in the amount of boost you can run without blowing up the motor.
