I was walked pretty bad.. about 6 cars and gaining.. my IS350 is bone stock. Here are my friends mods..

Mods are as follow:
PROcede V5.
BMS DCI.
Spearco intercooler.
STETT Performance charge pipe.
Forge Diverter Valves.
RR Catless Downpipe.
Coolingmist meth kit.
and last but not least the Vanguard exhaust.

Can anyone tell me what a 335 with these mods is running?

Probably anywhere from 350 whp to 400 whp. 1/4 mile in the low 12s. An IS350 does not have a chance. You don't have a chance from 0. You definitely don't have a chance from any type of roll.

You make approximately 268 whp with your stock IS350. He very likely has an 80 to 100 whp advantage on you. If you installed PPE headers you could probably make 280 whp. There's nothing you can do to the IS350 to make it significantly faster.

Cars that come with factory (twin) turbos have always ruled the day in the performance modding scene.

335i is a great performance car, my roomie has a modded one and its FAST. But the repair bills aren't easy to swallow lol.

By the way, I used to own a 335i coupe. I never modded it for more power because I'm not interested in that sort of thing. I traded it in for my (current) IS350 2 years ago and never looked back. The 335i was a maintenance nightmare. In hindsight, I probably had a lemon but I never pursued that potential course of action.

The IS350 will always have the following basic performance specs: 0 to 60 in about 4.9 seconds, 1/4 mile in about 13.5 seconds. A stock 335i has very similar performance specs (though most magazines rate it - on average - .1 seconds faster through 60 and through the 1/4 mile; 0 to 60 in 4.8, 1/4 mile in 13.4).

It's extremely easy to add anywhere from 50 to 100 whp to a 335i for cheap. In the entry level sport luxury coupe/sedan class, the 335i by far has the best potential for tuning. You cannot do much to the IS350 or G37 (both naturally aspirated vehicles) to make them appreciably faster.

The C350 is significantly slower than all 3 of these cars (IS350, 335i, G37) when comparing stock performance, and it also suffers from the same problems as the IS350 and G37 as far as modding goes.

That video was exactly what it looked like! At the end of the day my car cost 16k and he paid 45k new plus his mods. He will have HPFP problems as well.

My other budy has a E39 M5 with dinan exhaust.. according to online sources they run about what a stock 350 runs. Could anyone confirm this?

The fuel pump is covered by warranty... And do they really break down as much as people say they do? I remember reading somewhere that the 3 series doesn't suffer from reliability issues as much as the other series.

Notice the IS350 still wins, but not by as much. The huge lead in the first video is almost entirely due to the early lead the IS350 gains through 1st gear (0 to 40).

That is good to know! The guy with the M5 is talking a lot more trash then the 335 owner that beat me. These BMW owners around here are something else.

This is one of the reasons why I'm thinking of getting a 335xi as my second car for the winter and bad weather driving. In a year or two, when I will get one, they'll be around or under $20k for a 335xi coupe. They are just so easy to tune and customize. Stock, they are the same as the IS350. But, a JB4 chip, intake, and exhaust, it can beat the E92/93 M3 on the higher "maps" of the JB4 chip, but it'll only get under 10 MPG though. Lots of cheap body kits on eBay too. I wanted a 328i originally but all talk about Lexus being more reliable and since I found a great deal on my IS350, I went with and have never had any major problems with it. I just hope the 335xi won't be too bad, but at least there is a 10-year warranty for the fuel pump issue.

Thanks. I talked them down from 19k. I think the end of the month contributed to the deal. It has 87k miles, but is in mint condition.

I agree, I could have gotten a 335xi for about what I paid for my IS350. I just thought about reliability. I always hear to never own a BMW out of warranty. My friends warranty just ended on his 335.. so I will laugh in the end.
