that sounds like a fair price. if you can get it down anywhere from 19k-20k then you be golden. even 20.8k sounds good to me.

Doesn't sound like a bad price, but there's definitely room.

This thread should answer a lot of your questions: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...e-threads.html

Check the Lexus.com dealer service history. Check Carfax and Autocheck. Check the car for all the issues listed in the above thread.

If that is a certified pre-owned then that's a steal. Just read up on the TSB's here... http://www.lexustsb.com/categories/L...7B47%7D+IS350/

Take a look and be aware of all the tsb issues as you start to get more familiar with the car...or even check some out during your test drive. The one thing I had issues with was the bubbling of the paint on my wheels. The dealer ended up replacing all 4 of them eventually. Otherwise it is a very solid car...just keep up on your oil changes and you should be good. Good luck...let's see some pics if you buy!!!

What do KBB and Edmunds say for the value of your car with all the features you listed?

I went in to see the car in person this weekend. The vehicle had minor scratches, a non-functional passenger window, a dead battery, worn tires, and the price was non negotiable. With these issues and the fact that I was not particularly fond of the color, I had to pass on the purchase.

I have found a 2008 IS 250 listed for $25,974. The KBB value is listed at $30,400. With this in mind, if i were to speak with a sales associate, what price would be reasonable to initially offer, and expect to end up at?

Thanks for you help,

As far as price, you should search Cars.com and Autotrader for cars that are as close as possible to that year, make, mileage, and features, then determine how the above price compares. You can even print these listings if they have better prices and bring them in.

I just did a quick Autotrader search. It's nationwide, so not specific to WI, but here's what I found. There are quite a few Certified IS250s with this mileage for close to that price:

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...standard=false
http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...standard=false

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...standard=false
http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...standard=false

Those are just a few I found. Most of them don't have nav, but the last one does. Honestly between nav and Certified, I'd go Certified. A Certified car could save you thousands of dollars in repairs, and a GPS unit that's better than Lexus' nav costs about $150.

These are just some thoughts. Dealers absolutely love to certify and mark up cars of the year, model, and mileage you're looking at. I highly recommend the CPO warranty. The trick is to find a car that's been sitting on the lot for a while. Dealers will certify a car and mark it up thousands - there are Certified 2008 IS250s with 32k miles on Autotrader going for over $30k, which is ridiculous. But if it sits too long, they'll start taking the price down. My 2007 IS350 CPO with 56k miles had been listed at $29k originally but they brought it down to $25k after it had sat there a while.

Just some thoughts.
