Yea just use 3m tape... cut off the screws with a drimel and tape it on. Easy job and you won't have to drill into your paint/trunk

You have three options

1. don't install anything if you don't want to deal with any of the two other options

2. Tape it and it will eventually start sagging and your luck it will fly away without you noticing.

3. drill holes and use tape as well but make sure to use this clear all weather sealer used for
showers etc... No leaks, no drips. Use a reasonable amount inside and out.
a. it will not come off easily
b. if it does, it's because somebody really wanted to steal it and will leave you with some really
nasty holes.
c. once it is on, will never take it off unless you are willing to pay for hole repairs ($200)

I have an 2006 have replaced the tape twice. I have finally removed it but will put it on, not with screws but tape and some other super, duper strong glue. Some have recomended this clear glue.
Do a search and find other posts regarding this issue. I am not sure if others that have had no issues had their cars for at least five years, park outside in the rain and sun. I do! I think that's the rason for the tape not to work well because of the weather conditions tape is exposed.

Good luck
