Does CPO cover HID headlights?

The following items are expressly excluded from coverage under the Lexus CPO warranty:
Body and Interior:
bumpers, carpet, chrome, dash cover and pad, door trim, handles, fabric, glass (including windshield), headliner, hinges, interior and exterior trim and moldings, cupholders, ashtrays, covers and vents, lightbulbs, nuts, bolts, clips, retainers and fasteners, paint, rust and corrosion damage, seat covers, shiny metals, weather stripping.
So if the problem is your HID bulb, then no it's not covered. If it's the ballast, then yes it should be covered.
If your bulb is burnt out, don't buy OEM - they're extremely expensive. Just buy two good bulbs for $100 total and swap both out. You'll want to swap both at the same time otherwise they'll be different colors and brightnesses (they fade over time).

It most likely cover's the ballasts for the HID, but not the bulbs. The bulbs would probably be under the factory warranty.
The stock bulbs are from Philips. You would be able to get them else where for cheaper than dealer and have the option to go Ultinon if wanted.

Philips Ultinon are OEM quality HID bulbs. They aren't cheap, but they are probably some of the best quality bulbs you can buy.
There's plenty of other HID bulbs you can buy though. Check out the vendors section here on Clublexus, there's a few vendors that sell HID kids/HID bulbs. Garax seem to be the most popular as far as just bulbs go. For full kits there's many, Xenon Depot, V-Leds, etc.

why are these cars having so many hID problems? im having trouble too.

Also I'm not sure these cars do have many HID problems - bulbs burn out, and I've heard of very few OEM ballast issues.

You'll clearly note on that Sewell page that it's only referenced as "Bulb", not "Bulbs". The picture is also of only one bulb. This is precisely why I would never consider buying OEM.

Would you mind explaining where you got them for that price? I ask because Sewell generally has the best prices on OEM Lexus parts, and the price on one true OEM bulb there is $175. I find it extremely hard to fathom you were able to get a genuine OEM pair for $40.

I dont know what u guys are talking about....i took the car to lexus of manhattan because my bulbs kept going off n on...they gave me two new bulbs...problem fixed...
